"The artist’s dissected bodies call to my soul in their silent voices. Looking at Adam Bloom’s dark and heavy earth-toned paintings is like watching an autopsy through bloody eyes. However, his do not invoke death, despite the state of their subjects – they are fully alive and moving and communicating with the viewer."

The first image in Nicholas Flamel’s codex showed this image, two  serpents devouring one another which represent the endless circulation of distillation and condensation.

Pseudo Eleazar explains, “The winged snake signifies the universal world spirit which is sucked from the dew and with which we prepare our salt. But the lowest snake signifies our matter, the virgin earth found beneath the vegetable roots.”

I think I really like this guy…he has so much going for him and is including me in his future…He took me out for the nicest dinner on my birthday and didn’t complain when I dragged him to the art gallery. We’re going camping soon! I’m so excited :)
